Wouldn’t you go to jail to stop a war? I get mixed responses when I spew this quote. So much of well, but, what about and I’m tired. There are nuances in war, sure, but this is not about war politics. People are dying. Brutally. People are being tortured. Kids are being tortured. People are being raped. Kids are being raped. What happened to humanity? How can we see pictures of families grieving the loss of their kids, parents, siblings and talk about how it’s complicated? People dying is not complicated, it is the ultimate act of violence. Thousands of thousands of people die, and yet, it somehow is not enough. How many people need to die before this stops? 40,000 people now: dead. That is the amount of students go to UMass. What if an entire campus of 40,000 students was murdered, tortured, and starved. That is what is happening. It does not make a difference that it is “over there.” All people are our people.
