The Unrequited Love Poem

I yearn to feel again.

Just for one night and maybe I’ll be able to move on.

No, I know that’s not true

for the love I have for you

has tethered me upon

this ferris wheel locking me in.

Do you still love me?

I wish I could ask you

but I have no strength left

to deal with the death

of feeling blue

for eternity, you see.

This love is overcoming,

so hard to shake the shackles

binding myself to you.

But this could be true,

while the fireplace crackles,

you’re watching and happily humming.

For my heart is in there,

burning more everyday,

missing you with my entire being.

It looks like you’re fleeing

and I can’t stay

because love is my despair.
